From the Collection
An ongoing series where anyone can shop the personal collections of icons across sneakers, streetwear, collectibles, and motors.
Background
More than ever before, sneakerheads flock to online marketplaces for buying and selling exclusive new and used kicks. As the original sneaker resale destination, eBay had a chance to show its mastery, partnering with sneakerhead and fashion icons to open their personal shoe collections for the public to take home, while benefiting causes with the proceeds earned.
What we did
Create a series where renowned designers, artists, athletes, and entertainers drop exclusive items from their personal collections. The first installment of ‘From the Collection’ saw eBay team up with fashion icon Heron Preston for the exclusive sale of his personal shoe collection and restoration by the Reshoevn8r. The second ‘From the Collection’ was timed with International Women’s Day and featured a full lineup of sneakers from the closet of industry leader Joy Claire. All proceeds from both auctions went to supporting causes meaningful to Preston, Claire, and eBay.
Heron Preston
Heron Preston gave fashion enthusiasts and sneaker collectors a chance to bid on more than 50 pairs from the designer's legendary personal collection. One hundred percent of proceeds helped provide scholarships and grants to young creatives through the Heron Preston L.E.D. (Less Environmentally Destructive) initiative in partnership with the Fashion Scholarship Fund.

Jeff Staple
Jeff Staple is one of the few designers to collaborate with nearly every major sneaker brand, and designed the Nike SB “Pigeon”– a shoe widely credited with sparking modern-day sneaker culture. In collaboration with eBay, Jeff offered up a selection of his personal sneaker collection for the very first time. Enthusiasts and collectors could shop the drop exclusively on eBay with 100% of proceeds benefiting causes with personal significance to Staple: Art Start which empowers creative voices for historically marginalized youths, and Welcome to Chinatown, a grassroots initiative supporting Chinatown businesses and communities.

Ken Block
A year after the passing of one of the most influential figures in motorsports history, Ken Block, eBay Motors partnered with the Block Family and 43 Institute (43i) on an exclusive auction of items from his personal archive. In celebration of Ken Block Day (4/3), fans were given access to auto parts, art pieces, collectibles, and other memorabilia sourced directly from Block’s viral Gymkhana series, rally races, and other unforgettable moments. The auction marked the Block family’s first public release of items from Ken’s collection, and 100% of proceeds benefited 43i, the foundation created in Ken’s honor that supports rising talent in motorsport.

“The late rally and stunt driver Ken Block was one of a kind. He left a Hoonicorn-sized hole in the world 15 months ago, and we're all still trying to recover. Today is Ken Block day – April 3, or 4/3 to correspond with Block’s 43 racing number – and eBay Motors is partnering with the legendary driver’s family to auction off some of his memorabilia for charity.”
