Camp Overland
We put the breadth and depth of vehicles, parts, and accessories to the test on some of the toughest terrain in America.
Background
Overlanding is one of the hottest topics in automotive. This evergreen pastime presented a unique opportunity for eBay Motors to leverage its expertise and inventory. With cross-category products and the eBay Guaranteed Fit promise, anyone can access eBay’s unrivaled inventory of vehicles, parts, and accessories for any kind of off-roading adventure.
What we did
eBay Motors hosted the ultimate outdoor adventure event in Vail, CO, proving it’s the destination for all things overlanding - no matter your budget or style. Four purpose-built rigs were sourced and modified with parts and accessories backed by eBay Guaranteed Fit, showing the range of what’s possible on the marketplace. Journalists got behind the wheel with off-roading experts to test the vehicles and mods on gnarly trails at high elevation. The event combined green laning, technical rock crawling, pack-in/pack-out car camping, and open trail navigation, all with gear sourced from eBay.
Then we auctioned two of the ultimate overlanding vehicles on eBay.com and gave 100% of the proceeds to a charity benefiting the great outdoors.

“eBay also knows that “trust” is vitally important to its existence, hence the guaranteed-fit program that works simply by entering the year/make/model/trim/engine and clicking “Find Parts.” Behind the scenes, there’s also a huge investment in people and technology to root out fraud and in vetting sellers; in title checks; and in a constant monitoring of sales.”

“The term “overlanding” gets thrown around a lot these days despite a glut of definitions, nuances, and debates about what it is (and isn’t). What’s undeniable is products associated with the term are very popular for camping, traveling, and building up a vehicle. The online marketplace, eBay Motors, recognizes this and recently showed off how much overland stuff can be had on its online bazaar, now in its 25th year. They did this by showcasing four unique vehicles in the Colorado mountains, all built in an overland style, and all with parts from eBay Motors.”
