What we did

eBay, home to the most expansive Star Wars collectibles market in the galaxy, announced “Your Side of the Fourth,” a curation of rare and iconic items spanning the franchise’s decades-long history. Just in time for May the 4th aka Star Wars Day, the “Your Side of the Fourth” collections were curated by actress Billie Lourd, and gave fans an opportunity to choose their loyalty between the Light and Dark Sides of the Force. The two epic storefronts, the Light Side and Dark Side Collections, featured 12 ultra-rare auction items – including a Mark Hamill-signed replica Luke Skywalker lightsaber hilt, a Carrie Fisher-signed trading card from 1980, and a David Prowse-signed Darth Vader helmet – with bidding starting at just $0.54.

“My son actually understands it now. He loves episode one, and we go and build lightsabers at Disneyland. He wears Star Wars sneakers. He wears Star Wars shirts. Actually, a lot of the shirts I bought on eBay were for him, so you know what? I don't need to make room in my dresser. I need to make room in his!” Lourd says with a laugh.” - Billie Lourd

“This Saturday is May 4th, a day that Star Wars fans around the world honor as “Star Wars Day.” Not only is actor Billie Lourd a fan of the series…she has collaborated with eBay to curate a selection of both Light Side and Dark Side items, which honor all corners of the galaxy far, far away.”

“I go on eBay all the time,” [Lourde] admits, expressing a real interest in collecting rare Princess Leia memorabilia. “I wish I had more Leia stuff. [My mom] should have kept more of it, [but] you don’t save the stuff you should.” Fortunately there’s no shortage of Leia stuff, some signed by Fisher herself, on the site — and that’s what makes Lourd’s latest collaboration so satisfying”
